Infinity Pool, Colombo

Cinnamon Red Colombo Infinity Pool

Today is a first day of my 100 Happy Days of Writing Challenge! As you know I have been a bit stress about the outcome, as we all know it is not gonna to be easy! Posting one hundred days in the row is not only a challenge but rather mission impossible actually but I’m giving it a try!

And as many people will underline, it is impossible to write an amazing post every single day, especially once you are traveling with such a hectic schedule. But we had this discussion before!

I’m taking this challenge to train myself. To prove myself that I can do it! And I want you to be an observer and commentator is you feel like, dear reader. For such an ambitious person, like me, there is no better motivation than possibility of failing publicly! So I better get a grip and get in habit of writing ha ha ha

Anyway, lets go back to the subject. What made me happy today?

Infinity Pool – Cinnamon Red Colombo

Cinnamon Red Colombo Infinity Pool

You think it is a joke, but it is not! I would enjoy this great pool at every other day as well, who wouldn’t! But today the calmness and the peacefulness of this place was what I needed most.

Some of you may be aware how terrible my journey to Sri Lanka was. Actually to be precise, my journey to Rome from where I was talking a flight to Colombo.

Getting to Rome was a total disaster! It took me 5 different airports, 3 severely delayed flights, 2 that have been cancelled and one train trip! We all know that I’m The Luckiest Girl in the World, but definitely weather was not on my side for past two days!

So when I arrived in Cinnamon Red Colombo, after really great flight with Sri Lankan Airlines, the only good part of my journey in the past 48h! (So do not be afraid to book tickets with them, they were great!) I was welcomed by super nice stuff at the hotel, with eternal smiles on their faces and I slowly started getting my good mood back!

When I reached the top floor and saw this amazing infinity pool and great bar to come with it I was one happy Marysia, with a faith in the world restored. It seems like I’m quiet easy to please ha ha ha

Oh and the view was not too bad either! Lol

Cinnamon Red Colombo Infinity Pool

It is my first day in Sri Lanka and Colombo but unfortunately I didn’t get to do much. I was totally exhausted from previous days so this infinity pool at Cinnamon Red Colombo was like a balm for my sour body and soul! Trow in some great drinks and dinner in the roof top bar and I’m ready for Sri Lanka and everything what this beautiful island has to offer! Batteries charged, ready to go!

What a great experience, I’m not a big fan of being waited on in the first place. It just feels weird to me and I would trade any of that luxury for the kind of experience you had.

    Hello Marysia,

The infinite pool seems really nice! Also, thanks for sharing with us!

  3. My dear, so glad we could share our experience at Cinnamon Red! You know already how much I loved that place!
The only downside of the hotel is that it’s so awesome that it’s too good and you don’t wanna leave it to explore the city :)

    • So blood y truth, it was to nice to just leave and go explore Colombo ha ha ha But we did see something from the roof top bar :)

  5. I can understand why an infinity pool would make you so happy after that ordeal! But really, they are amazing and I would be happy to be swimming in one right now if I could!

Really cool colors on this website… It’s very inviting. How can I take part in the 100 happy days challenge? Sounds fun!

  8. Wow, what a trip! I am not sure my patience would have stood the test personally! Sri Lanka has been on my list of places to visit for a couple of years now but, until now, I haven’t really considered Colombo. After seeing the view from that pool however, I think I will need to look into staying here. :)

    • Ha ha ha, yes, everyone always say to skip Colombo and I myself do not advise to stay too long, but a bit is always worth it!

So despite the fact that it is currently 0 degrees C I would like to go for a swim after looking at those photos. It looks so gorgeous and inviting! Glad to hear the positive feedback about Sri Lankan Airlines – will keep that in mind!

Ha, I have a list for 20 infinity pools to visit worldwide. One pool is also placed in Sri Lanka. It’s at the hotel “Kandalama Hotel” – so beautiful! By the way, I think your “100 Happy Days” column is a great idea. It will give you a better awareness for life and will make you do things that you will keep you really happy. ;) Hope, everything works out for you!
