Friday Lens Affair #35

Hawaiian turtle, Hawaii

Today I’m hosting photograph of Hawaiian turtle taken by Noel Morata. Photographer, writer and multi-media artist behind Travel Photo Discovery Blog. You can see more pictures from this day here. Love his pictures? Follow Noel on Twitter and Facebook.

I have come across Noel’s website because ever week he hosts famous Travel Photo Mondays Series! Where every Monday bloggers and travellers can add links to their posts with amazing photographies they wish to share! Great idea! Why haven’t I think of it?! Ha ha ha

I picked this photography from many many great pictures that Noel has on his page. He is truly outstanding photographer! And it was really tough choice. But I love turtles, they are just too cute! My favourite animals are elephants and turtles, very different but I adore thos creatures. I remember  when I first dove with turtles in Easter Island, they were huge and it was amazing!

Easter Island and Chile were amazing trips but the turtles were superb. Generally diving in Easter Island was quiet surreal. There is not much corals neither small colourful fishes but visibility is great.

Later in Oman I have managed to dove with few turtles as well, but those were much smaller and way faster so difficult to catch on the camera :)

Picture Story: Hawaiian turtle

The green sea turtle (Hawaiian turtle) are prevalent on Hawaii Island looking for tranquil and quiet places away from human communities. They like to find remote sandy beaches to soak in the sun and take long rests.

This picture was taken at the Place of Refuge. National park and sacred sanctuary on the west coast of Hawaii Island. It has historical value and national treasures worth visiting when you are touring Hawaii Island.

Keep it up! Never seen a turtle in my life.

    • I have seen them live while diving in Oman and in Easter Island :) They are just too cute!

  3. Thanks so much for allowing me to submit a picture, that sacred beach where the Honu (turtles) retreat is a beautiful and spiritual area to visit!
