The Amalfi Coast is simply stunning - but the village of Furore stands out in particular. Read here what makes this village by the fjord so special.

The Amalfi Coast is one of the most beautiful coasts in the world. In hardly any other place will you find such a fairytale landscape and discover so many romantic bays, surrounded by a unique colorful vegetation. Located on the Gulf of Salerno on Italy's west coast, each place seems more beautiful than the last. Pastel-colored houses are artfully built into the steep cliffs, the lush landscape invites you to take a stroll through the wonderful nature, and the crystal-clear turquoise sea offers the perfect refreshment. Among these, a small place is particularly noteworthy - Furore, a picturesque village hidden by a fjord.

Unique: The Fjord of Furore

No, this dreamlike place is not in Thailand and does not show one of the many enchanting beaches on Phuket, but is much further west, south of our homeland, in beautiful Italy. With its nearly 1,000 inhabitants, Furore is a small gem on the wonderful Amalfi Coast. With a small boat, you can navigate through the towering limestone cliffs to a uniquely scenic inlet. Upon arriving at the picturesque bay of Furore, one feels like in another world, as the first glance at this enchanting coastal town leaves you speechless. The famous Fjord of Furore is the only one of its kind in the entire Mediterranean.

Small pastel-colored cube houses rise terraced from the cliffs, where people actually live, and narrow stairs lead to the higher parts of the village, where the 30-meter high bridge is located. Those brave enough to venture across or happen to drive along the coastal road SS163 during a road trip along the Amalfi Coast will be rewarded with an unforgettable panoramic view - and of course with a unique view of the gorge.

As if this place with all its colorful plants, including blooming lemon bushes and vineyard terraces, wasn't colorful enough, a special event takes place here once a year, inviting artists from around the world to immortalize their artworks on the walls of the houses and support walls. Therefore, Furore is often referred to as the 'painted village' - a village set in a breathtaking backdrop that is truly unique.
