A Winter Wonderland in Finnish Lapland
Are you looking for a winter vacation that's truly special? Then listen up! We present to you the Iglu Hotel in the enchanting Finnish Lapland! A dream for all those who are reminded of their childhood dreams.
What a Stay at the Iglu Hotel Looks Like
One of the most beautiful places to enjoy the cold season is Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort, a 4-star accommodation in North Lapland that has become world-famous by the nickname 'Iglu Village'. We'll reveal what this very special hotel is all about and what your Finnish vacation can look like.
Enjoying the Northern Lights and Starry Sky in a Glass Igloo
There are a few natural phenomena that are simply too beautiful not to see at least once in your life. Among these are the Northern or Polar Lights, visible on several nights from the end of August to the end of April in polar regions, including Scandinavia. Many tourists want to make sure they don't miss this spectacle during their vacation there, which the architects of Kakslauttanen were aware of.
That's why they built twenty glass igloos and a glass tipi, positioned so you can admire the sky directly through the ceiling from your cozy double bed. The Northern Lights are especially sought after here, which you can witness up close with a bit of luck! The glass dome is designed so that no matter how fierce the snowstorm outside, you'll still be warm and snug in your cozy home.
Luxury, Comfort, and Unique Views - the Kelo-Glass Igloo
If you want to combine the coziness of wooden cabins with the unique views of the glass igloos, the newest accommodation at Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort is perfect for you. Up to six people can relax in the log cabin, enjoy a private sauna, and then spend the night under the glass dome. What an incredibly great idea, don't you think? Unfortunately, this special experience isn't cheap - you'll need to pay between €950 and €1,550 for one night in the Kelo-Glass Igloo.
The Iglu Hotel not only offers romantic glass domes but also something for real adventurers. Do you want to spend a night in a real snow igloo? If that's one of your long-awaited childhood dreams, then you should book your stay in this Finnish resort soon, as the 60 beds (four per igloo) are limited. It doesn't get much more adventurous than that!
With a Log Cabin, You Can Endure Any Snowstorm
In addition to the thrilling overnight stay in the igloos, you can enhance your vacation with additional nights in rustic yet equally luxurious traditional Finnish log cabins. While you have to forgo the LED TV and dishwasher, you do have access to a private sauna and a fireplace.
With the classic Scandinavian design, the Iglu Hotel outdoes itself with these accommodations. Here you can experience winter at its best and do what a stressful daily life often doesn't allow: spend time with your loved ones!
If you're traveling just as a couple but still want to enjoy the rustic design, you'll feel at home in the Log Chalets, which feature not only wonderful decor but also a cozy rocking chair. Couples can choose between the 60 m² Queen Suite and the Wedding Chamber. Both units come equipped with standard amenities, plus a generous bathtub. The Queen Suite additionally treats you to an outdoor whirlpool.
Sledding with Huskies, Reindeer & Co.
For all those who feel the urge to be active between cozy and relaxing days in the wellness accommodations, the Iglu Hotel provides an exciting selection of activities and excursions.
You'll get a winter wonderland with action served on a silver platter with reindeer, horse, and husky sled rides. The rides ensure that the animals are treated with respect, not overworked. If you're missing the sports, take on a cross-country skiing trail - the necessary equipment is available for rental at the reception. If after all this adventure in the snow you crave some relaxation and soothing warmth, visit one of three smoke saunas, one of which is even the largest smoke sauna in the world.
By the way: Great activities aren't just offered in Finnish Lapland during winter. In summer, you can look forward to hiking tours or horse safaris through the wonderful nature, canyoning, or relaxing fishing trips.
