Arriving in Las Vegas is Already a Highlight

The longer flight time is compensated during the approach to the glittering city in the desert when you look out the window. With beautiful weather, which is almost guaranteed with over 300 sunny days a year, you can see the huge city from afar.

No matter how exhausted you feel when you disembark from the plane - thanks to the unique atmosphere, you'll surely succumb to the magic of the city right away.

Slot machines and music greet you in the lobby. It's just about a five-minute taxi ride from the airport, or if your budget allows, even a stretch limousine, to quickly reach the infamous Las Vegas Strip. If the airport already amazed you, get ready for a little heart attack now. On the Strip, enormous casinos line up next to each other, music sounds from every bush, and before you know it, you'll travel from ancient Egypt to New York, Paris, and Venice. The ambiance between the world's largest hotels is almost unreal and impressive.

Finding the Right Hotel in Las Vegas

With over 300 hotels offering nearly 150,000 rooms, the selection is vast. If you want to stay and dine in exquisite style, Las Vegas has an enormous offering. It doesn't have to be the penthouse suite in the Wynn Tower; the city of glamour and glitter offers luxury for every taste and budget. Many hotels truly offer great budget-friendly options.

$20 Trick - Have You Tried It Yet?

Of course, there are also many other ways to enjoy affordable luxury accommodation. If you haven't heard of the $20 trick yet, make sure to give it a try when in Las Vegas. Simply ask at the hotel reception: 'Could you possibly make an upgrade available?' while discreetly handing over a $20 bill. If enough rooms are available, you could get upgraded from a standard room to a penthouse suite. The receptionist will check to see if upgrades are available, and if none are found, you'll get your $20 back. It's definitely worth a shot!

Explore the Las Vegas Strip on Foot During the Day

It's best to get an overview of the city's highlights with a walk along the Strip. You should definitely take a whole day for the roughly four miles (6.4 km) to see as many of the hotels as possible from the inside as well. Don't hesitate, as visiting the hotel complexes is allowed for non-guests, even encouraged. Once inside, you'll experience an indescribable feeling - take a whiff of some casino air, try your luck at the games, or just let the ambiance wash over you.

These Hotels & Attractions Are Particularly Spectacular

The Venetian Hotel in the northern part of the Strip, right next to the two bronze towers of the luxurious Wynn and Encore hotels, invites you for extensive shopping tours at The Shoppes at the Palazzo. Over 140 shops and restaurants spread across three floors, all designed in Venetian style, provide the best conditions. The second-largest hotel in the world offers a canal for gondola rides and free street performances all day long for your entertainment.

Guru Tip: If you are looking for a comfortable way to explore Las Vegas, we recommend the sightseeing tours from Big Bus Tours. Ride in stylish open-top double-decker buses through the city and experience all the sights of Las Vegas comfortably and quickly. It's best to buy your tickets online in advance to save a lot!

The next highlight along the Las Vegas Strip is the famous Mirage Hotel, where you can visit Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden to see the white tigers, lions, and leopards, watch dolphins at the Dolphin Habitat, or sip a cocktail in the Beatles Revolution Lounge. The hotel's landmark is the massive artificial volcano that erupts at 8, 9, and 10 PM every evening, shooting flames high into the night sky - you can't miss it.

Next door is the world-famous Caesars Palace, known for its gigantic water fountains featured in countless movies. You should try your luck at roulette or the slot machines in one of the best casinos in the city. A visit to the luxurious halls of the Forum Shops at the hotel, which houses the largest H&M store in the USA, is also worth it for its elaborate decor. Under an artificial blue sky, you'll feel transported to ancient Rome, even the trash cans are uniquely designed. A small hotel tour is almost a must while strolling down the Strip!

You surely also know the Bellagio Hotel, famous for its giant water fountains. You can admire the Fountains of Bellagio show multiple times a day. The spectacular fountains can be best viewed from the opposite Eiffel Tower at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel. From there, you also get a fantastic view of the entire city - you have a great sight of the replica skyline of New York alongside the castles of Excalibur and the Sphinx of the Luxor Hotel.

A trip to the southern end of the Strip is also worth it, as you can visit the aquarium at Mandalay Bay and then check out the famous Las Vegas sign that says 'Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas' from the back. By the time you get here, you should be proud of yourself, as much more can't be accomplished in a single day.

The City Comes Alive at Night

As both your legs and brain start to tire, the best move now is to take a taxi back to your hotel. However, you should definitely - preferably after a hearty meal at one of the great buffets in Las Vegas - check out the Strip at night. The city lights and spectacular shows appear even more impressive in the dark. So gather your energy and make sure to venture out once more!

Las Vegas - The City of Parties

Partying is, of course, the quintessential leisure activity in Las Vegas. While you can visit casinos and hotels during the day, the atmosphere becomes much more exciting as night falls. Not only do spectacular shows take place in the evenings, but numerous awesome bars and nightclubs also open their doors. A wide array of entertainment and party options is available, both in Downtown and the hotels on the Strip.

The heat in the city can also be unbearable at night with outdoor temperatures reaching up to 30°C (86°F), making you long for a little cool down. So why not visit the only place in the city surrounded entirely by ice? The Minus 5 Ice Bar is made entirely of ice and provides you with numerous cool cocktails along with the much-desired cool down. If the heat is already too much during the day, we recommend the legendary dayclubs in Vegas, which boast the best pool parties in the world. Popular locations include Marquee, Wet Republic, and Drai's.

Another bar that is a must when visiting Vegas is the Ghostbar on the 55th floor of the Palms Casino. The lounge, with its gigantic glass windows, offers unobstructed views of the night sky and the glowing city beneath. Similarly spectacular is the VooDoo Rooftop Bar on the roof of the Rio Hotel. Here, the brave can even experience a ride through the night sky over Las Vegas with the VooDoo Zipline. If you don't like waiting in long lines and just want to have fun, the VCard is the way to go. This gives you unrestricted VIP access to many bars, nightclubs, and pool parties so you can fully enjoy your nightlife. The club card currently costs $109, approximately €96.
