Friday Lens Affair 239

Polly's Cove, Peggy's Cove, Halifax, Canada

This week I’m featuring this superb shot taken in the Polly’s Cove by Meggan and Peter Mullock from the Let’s Get Tripsy Blog.

Meggan and Peter are a fun loving married couple who are part-time travel bloggers, full-time dreamers of spending their lives travelling on their terms!

They are a regular everyday couple, relatable in nearly every way except for his incredible sense of humour and her ability to laugh at (nearly all) his jokes no matter what!

Do follow them on Twitter and Instagram.

Photo Story: Polly’s Cove – Hidden Gem

We both grew up by the ocean but in different places. He grew up in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada near the beach where he could hear the waves crashing from his bedroom window.

I grew up at the other end of the province on Cape Sable Island, over 7 hours away with the Atlantic ocean literally out my doorstep!

We eventually met in the middle of this beautiful and picturesque province, still surrounded by the ocean but together.

We started this travel blog as an adventure to map our travels both near and far, more for fun than anything but who knows right?

The jagged cliff and these crashing ocean waves in this picture became the inspiration of only our second ever blog post.

Famous Peggy’s Cove is just outside of our home city of Halifax and just before you arrive there is this hidden gem of a hike called Polly’s Cove.

We set out with our camera and no expectations; what we found was a beautiful day with the even more beautiful scenery.

I remember specifically as we sat in anticipation of each wave and even though our whole entire lives have been spent near the ocean – this view on this day in the Spring sunshine felt like the start of something.

I honestly feel that sometimes in life we take things for granted that have always been there for us whether it is our friends or family or job or even the beauty of specific landscapes.

In moments like these, like the one captured here in the picture, it really drives home how lucky we are to live here surrounded by nature and experience it together. We try so hard every day to look up from our phones, see it with our eyes and just enjoy – it is worth it!

Polly’s Cove Trail is a 3.1 kilometer loop trail located near Peggys Cove, Nova Scotia, Canada that features beautiful wild flowers. The trail is rated as moderate and primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding.

Great shot! Helps that the weather cooperates, of course, but Nova Scotia has tons of natural beauty around.
